Leadership Team

Pete Burak is the Director of i.d.9:16. He is a 2010 graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, and has a Master’s in Theology from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, MI. Pete is a frequent speaker at numerous youth and young adult events, and he is the Camp Co-Director of Pine Hills Boys Camp. Pete and his wife Cait, have two daughters, Grace and Erin, and a new baby boy, Donovan.

Joey McCoy is the Assistant Director of i.d.9:16. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, both undergrad and medical school. He has a deep passion for evangelization and discipleship. Joey serves at the primary author for the i.d.9:16 blog and enjoys any opportunity when he can share the Gospel. He and his wife Elise are expecting their first child soon.

Mary Kathleen (Katie) Perrotta, an Ann Arbor native, is a recent graduate of Eastern Michigan University where she studied Communications, Marketing, and Nonprofit Administration. She has been active since high school in youth ministry and pro-life outreach. She’s volunteered at Pine Hills Girls Camp for 6 years and interned with Be Love Revolution. She served for two years as President of Eastern Michigan University Students for Life, the campus pro-life advocacy group, for which she was awarded the Student Gold Medallion Award for Collegiate Leadership. During college, Katie was also selected as a Wilberforce Fellow with Students for Life of America, a yearlong, nationwide leadership program focused on mentoring young pro-life leaders.

Katie recently joined i.d. 9:16 as Program Coordinator, devoting her time to furthering the impact of i.d.9:16 via social media, running the Ann Arbor chapter and serving the leadership of various chapters, nationwide. She also serves on the Executive Board of ArborWoman, a pro-life medical center in Ann Arbor. Katie has ten siblings, loves banana-headbands, Liturgy of the Hours, kayaks, hammocks, and Latin chanting.

Peter Herbeck is the Vice President and Director of Missions for Renewal Ministries. He has been actively involved in evangelization and Catholic renewal throughout the U.S., Canada, Africa, and Eastern Europe for the past thirty years. Peter is a co-host for the weekly EWTN television programs The Choices We Face and Crossing the Goal. He also hosts the daily radio show Fire on the Earth. He is a frequent conference speaker, has authored When the Spirit Comes in Power and When the Spirit Speaks, and has produced CDs and booklets about discipleship and life in the Spirit. Peter and his wife Debbie have four children and live in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Debbie Herbeck, a Messianic Jewish Catholic, is the director of youth outreach for Renewal Ministries. She is also the director of the Renewal Ministries School of Catholic Bible Study and she and her husband Peter have co-authored a book entitled: When the Spirit Speaks, Touched by God’s Word. She has also written Safely Through the Storm, 120 Reflections on Hope, Firmly on the Rock, 120 Reflections on Faith, and Love Never Fails, 120 Reflections on Love. Debbie has worked extensively in youth and women’s ministry for the past thirty years, doing evangelism on university campuses, speaking at conferences and retreats, leading mission trips for youth, directing Pine Hills summer youth camp, and mentoring high school and college age women. Debbie and Peter have four children ages 19-26 and one granddaughter.
